Here’s what we know. (Info)

We started with cooking rice for only the Japanese market. But as we studied what kinds of rice and grains other people were eating around the world, we wanted to make everyone feel at home when using our rice cookers. Here’s what we know today.

  • Water Soaking

Water needs to be soaked into the rice grain before steaming. And the water to grain ratio can be tricky. You had to be an expert to get perfectly cooked rice.

  • Steam before serving

Once the rice is fully cooked, the process wasn’t done yet. Now you had to slowly steam it so that the grains could absorb the moisture completely. You couldn’t take your eyes off it yet!

  • Now it’s a button

The steps needed to cook rice haven’t changed, but today we’ve automated the entire process so it can be done easily with one finger on a switch.

  • Inner Lid

Re-attaching the inner lid is necessary to operating the rice cooker. Most cookers have mechanisms that prevent closing the outer lid if the inner lid is not set properly.

  • Inner Pan

Pressing the START button without the inner pan installed will cause overheating. With our IH cookers, there is a No Pan detection warning to prevent this.
